Position Summary
Harding Fine Arts Academy is seeking a High School English Teacher with the ability to teach a range of courses, including potential AP offerings. This educator will deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction while incorporating arts integration to deepen student engagement and understanding. The ideal candidate values creativity, strong literacy skills, and aligns instruction with the Oklahoma A+ (OKA+) Schools Network 8 Essentials to support critical thinking and student voice.
Qualifications
Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Secondary English/Language Arts
Strong content knowledge in literature, writing, and composition
Ability to teach or willingness to be trained in AP English courses
Understanding of or willingness to implement arts integration strategies
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach high school English courses, with the potential to teach AP English
Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards
Develop lessons that emphasize reading, writing, analysis, and communication
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Arts Integration (OKA+ 8 Essentials Focus)
Incorporate arts integration strategies to enhance literary analysis and student expression
Design lessons that promote creativity, collaboration, and real-world connections
Align instructional practices with the OKA+ 8 Essentials, including experiential learning and multiple learning pathways
Data & Student Growth
Use formative and summative data to guide instruction and interventions
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to support growth
Support Tier 1 instruction and collaborate on Tier 2 supports as needed
Collaboration & Culture
Collaborate with colleagues, including fine arts staff, to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities
Participate in PLCs and school-wide initiatives
Contribute to a positive school culture focused on rigor and creativity
Professional Expectations
Engage in ongoing professional development, including AP training and OKA+ practices
Maintain clear communication with students, families, and staff
Support school events and initiatives
