Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining the appearance of the pool area to hotel standards at all times. Monitors all activity on the pool deck, enforces pool rules, maintains retail sale of items and provides assistance to guests as needed. Maintains cleanliness of the pool deck area in addition to providing assistance to hotel guests at the pool following check‑in at the pool counter.

Remains alert to all activity occurring within their assigned section of the pool area throughout their shift.

Treats customers with courtesy and respect at all times.

Notifies the manager immediately of any problems at the pool requiring extra‑ordinary attention (e.g., guest injury, guest‑employee conflict, etc.).

Ensures all guests follow pool rules (e.g., diving‑board safety, running, horseplay, etc.).

Places towels and chairs in desired locations in the pool area for guests.

Take in all chairs at the end of the day (stack and cover with the tarp).

Stocks the pool registration counter with all needed supplies (e.g., folded towels, receipts, log sheets, etc.).

Stocks, replenishes and manages sale of pool retail items.

Clears all brass and metal rails in the pool area.

Sweeps the pool area (clearing all debris) as needed.

Collects all used items and disposes of them properly (e.g., cups and paper items in the trash, towels in used‑towel carts, etc.).

Changes pool status sign (open at the beginning of the day and close at the end of the day).

Assists technician in keeping appearance of the pools up to hotel standards.

Receives hotel guests at the pool counter, distributes towels and facilitates lotion sales as needed.

Performs additional related duties as requested by the pool manager or supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Casino/Hotel experience preferred.

Experience within an upscale hotel preferred.

Strong visual abilities to effectively monitor the activity taking place in the pool area (and make pool rescues if needed).

Must have schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, holiday shifts and overtime, as needed.

Must be able to get along well with co‑workers and possess well‑developed interpersonal skills.

Must possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.

Receives instructions and hears inquiries from guests, clients, or staff.

Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift and remain calm during emergency situations.

Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.

Additional Requirements

Tolerates working outdoors in heat.

Stands and moves throughout the pool area as required during an assigned shift in an efficient, expedient manner, regardless of extremes in temperature.

Good communication and people skills are required.

Handles sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems in a timely manner.

Read, write, speak, and understand English.

Operates in mentally and physically stressful situations.

Responds to visual and aural cues.

Works in cold & hot temperatures.

Possibly exposed to second‑hand smoke.

Moves, lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and places objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
