Our client, a popular outdoor attraction and cultural destination in Memphis, is hiring an Outdoor Facilities Manager to lead the upkeep and daily operations of heavily used public spaces, buildings, and event support areas. This position plays a key role in maintaining an environment that is safe, attractive, and guest-ready at all times.
This leadership role is highly hands‑on and best suited for someone with experience managing operations, teams, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will be energized by a dynamic outdoor setting and understand the direct connection between facility operations, guest satisfaction, staff effectiveness, and partner relationships.
Flexibility is essential for this role, including availability for one day each weekend and participation in an on‑call Manager on Duty schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop frontline staff; manage scheduling and maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and visitor experience
Serve as on‑site leader during weekends, events, and emergencies
Oversee maintenance of facilities and infrastructure, including preventative repairs and inspections
Track assets, work orders, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Coordinate event setup, logistics, vendor access, and post‑event restoration
Support operations such as waste, restrooms, parking, utilities, and site protection
Manage third‑party vendors; monitor performance, timelines, and budgets
Collaborate across teams to support events, partnerships, and operations
Plan and execute projects, managing timelines, tasks, and costs
Maintain accurate records and provide operational updates to leadership
Qualifications
3+ years relevant experience; 2+ years supervising teams in fast‑paced environments
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; able to multitask and meet deadlines
Experience with vendors and digital tools (e.g., Google Workspace, work order systems)
Comfortable working outdoors; valid driver’s license required
Experience in large outdoor venues, facilities systems knowledge, event operations, or related degree
Detail‑oriented, proactive, team‑focused, and able to perform under pressure
