Overview
The Golf Shop Retail Coordinator is responsible for supporting and executing all aspects of golf shop retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and member engagement. This role is instrumental in delivering a polished, well-organized, and inviting retail space while helping drive overall sales performance.
Qualifications
2-5+ years of retail buying, merchandising, or golf shop experience (private club experience preferred)
Strong understanding of golf industry brands, trends, and seasonal buying cycles
Experience with retail POS and inventory management systems
Creative eye for merchandising and visual presentation
Proven ability to drive retail sales and manage inventory effectively
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset
Essential Responsibilities
Retail Operations & Merchandising
Assist in executing the golf shop retail plan as directed by golf leadership
Support merchandise selection and purchasing across apparel, accessories, and hard goods
Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage communications regarding orders and product availability
Execute floor sets, seasonal displays, and merchandising updates
Ensure the golf shop is consistently clean, organized, and visually appealing
Sales & Member Experience
Actively engage members and guests to enhance the retail experience
Provide product knowledge and personalized recommendations
Build relationships with members to understand preferences and buying habits
Assist with promotions, trunk shows, and retail events
Support achievement of retail sales goals through proactive engagement and merchandising
Inventory Management
Perform daily inventory tasks including receiving, tagging, stocking, and organizing merchandise
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
Monitor product movement and communicate inventory needs or opportunities
Process returns, transfers, and vendor-related inventory communications
Team Support
Provide guidance to golf shop staff on product knowledge and sales techniques
Promote a team-first culture centered around exceptional member service
Help reinforce retail standards and expectations set by golf leadership
