Role Summary

As a Skilled Nursing LPN at our Park River facility, you will be an essential clinical presence for our 44 Skilled Nursing and 12 Basic Care residents. This role is designed for a dedicated professional who enjoys the autonomy of the night shift while maintaining a high standard of care and safety. You will lead your floor staff with confidence, ensuring that every resident receives their medications and treatments in an environment that honors their dignity and personal choices.
Key Duties:
Night Shift Leadership:
Provide direct oversight of floor staff, ensuring all evening and overnight care protocols are executed flawlessly.
Clinical Care Delivery:
Administer medications and perform treatments according to nursing standards and individualized resident care plans.
Ongoing Assessment:
Observe residents throughout the night, documenting any changes in condition and reporting vital information to the RN or physician as required.
Resident Advocacy:
Safeguard resident privacy and property while promoting a quiet, restful environment that supports their health and well-being.
Safe Mobility:
Utilize transfer equipment (gait belts, mechanical lifts) and safe handling techniques to assist residents during nighttime movements.
Operational Accuracy:
Use the EMR system to maintain meticulous records of care provided, ensuring a seamless hand-off to the day shift team.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety, fire, and disaster plans, maintaining the highest standards of the corporate compliance program.
Compassionate Interaction:
Respond promptly to call lights, providing comfort and reassurance to residents and their families.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure:
Current LPN licensure for the state of North Dakota.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 35 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, and moving in response to job tasks.
Desired Skills
Night Shift Proficiency:
Proven ability to work independently and manage unit flow during overnight hours.
Organization:
Expert multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize care for a diverse resident population.
Geriatric Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of medications common in senior care.
Leadership Spirit:
A positive, team-oriented attitude that fosters a supportive working environment for floor staff.
