IoT/OT Integration Engineer (with a background in backend engineering)
Location: (Hybrid) 1 day a week onsite in St. Louis, MO
Visa restrictions: GC or USC only
NEED : Backend engineer who has connected systems/devices and moved data into the cloud
THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE USING PER ENGINEER ON TEAM :
Strong backend engineer with AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, IAM), event-driven messaging (Kafka/MQTT), data pipelines, and hands-on experience integrating IoT/OT devices to cloud using Node-RED or similar tools.
Node-RED is the LOW CODE tool they use → wiring systems together.
AWS (Lambda, APIs) → backend/cloud
Messaging (Kafka, MQTT, etc.) → moving data
React → dashboard
MUST HAVE :
-Backend engineer who has connected systems/devices and moved data into the cloud
-Strong experience with cloud platforms and building APIs/integrations (preferably AWS - Lambda, API Gateway, IAM)
-Experience with event-driven systems / messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT, etc.)
-Experience with data pipelines / moving data between systems
-Exposure to OT / real-world systems (devices, sensors, IoT, industrial/logistics/healthcare hardware - does NOT have to be manufacturing, MFG is Nice to Have.)
-LOW Code: Node-RED or something similar // Ability to work in integration-heavy environments (connecting multiple systems, not just building apps) - If not Node - RED, comparable tool to orchestrate data flows between systems.
- Light frontend capability to support dashboards (preferably React, but not core, don't reject if no react if solid otherwise)
Additional Details:
25% travel required (rent a vehicle and submit the expense)
Prefer local candidates. They will need to come in and spend time with the team and in the hardware lab.
Travel could be out of state/overnight. Could be 1 day or possibly a week or two (expected to be expensed).

Responsible for
Software Development: analysis, development, testing and deployment. Knowledge and experience in software craftsmanship, demonstrating curious proactive ego-less and collaborative working style. Must be able to think through hard problems and work with an autonomous team to make them reality. Challenge the status quo and bring new ideas. This is a technical position requiring on-site travel to work with Manufacturing Automation engineers to implement, configure, and support. (For travel they would rent a vehicle and submit the expense). 7+ Years of Experience.
