Position Summary
The
Portland State University School of Social Work
invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice NTTF (non tenure track continuous) position focused on instruction, program management, coordination, and service activities. The MSW Central Oregon Option Site Coordinator will coordinate the MSW Central Oregon Distance Option, collaborate with the MSW Program Director on curricular and instructional needs, develop and maintain field placement opportunities, coordinate all aspects of the field placement process, provide a field seminar, and maintain the field database. Candidates are expected to have strong knowledge of Central Oregon’s social work and social service landscape.
Responsibilities
Coordinate MSW Central Oregon Distance Option and collaborate on curricular needs.
Develop and maintain suitable field placement opportunities.
Coordinate all aspects of field placement process, provide a field liaison and field seminar.
Maintain field database for MSW Central Oregon Option field placements.
Assist in program management and administrative duties.
Qualifications
Master’s in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.
Minimum of 3 years post‑master’s practice experience.
Minimum of 2 years social service administrative experience in a human services field and/or higher education (e.g., BSW/MSW Field Instructor, Field Liaison, Staff Supervisor).
Understanding of human service and social work education needs in rural areas.
Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and related frameworks.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work on teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year teaching experience.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oregon or eligible for clinical licensure; licensed as a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC‑II or CADC‑III).
Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team and communicate effectively with diverse students, staff, faculty, and community partners.
Experience creating inclusive environments.
Adherence to PSU policies on prohibited discrimination, harassment, and professional standards of conduct.
Commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability goals.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary is $76,239 per year (subject to salary band adjustments). Benefits include 95% premium‑paid healthcare, a generous retirement plan, and reduced tuition rates for employees, spouses, and dependents at Oregon University System schools. Travel may be required for meetings in Portland, Oregon on a quarterly basis. The position requires a background check.
