Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Answers incoming calls and greets visitors, responds to requests for information and forms with general knowledge of student enrollment and assistance programs; routes calls and visitors to appropriate staff. Manages the appearance of the reception area and display cases of Main Building of the Walterboro Campus. Performs clerical and administrative support services as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

No certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred. Knowledge and experience using postal meters and equipment a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent and professional customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Great organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills. Good spreadsheet and word processing skills. Maintains composure and professionalism when faced with challenging or stressful situations. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Receptionist:

Greets and assists visitors to the Walterboro campus, answers calls and directs callers to the appropriate faculty or staff member; maintains office supply inventory and provides faculty and staff with appropriate office supplies as needed. Schedules conference rooms for meetings and maintains room schedules. Receives daily mail delivery. Coordinates the mail delivery to faculty and staff mailboxes. Sends and accepts packages from FedEx and UPS as needed. Serves as back-up for issuing and distributing state car keys and keys to offices and classrooms in multiple buildings, assigning as needed to faculty, staff, and student employees, and maintaining records, key inventory, and orders additional keys when needed.
