Crown Staffing is looking for a qualified Laboratory Technician for a local chemical manufacturing facility.
Laboratory Technician Job Details
Schedule: 6 pm-6 am but will train on 1st 8 am-430 pm, Overtime, weekends, or on-call hours may be required
Pay Rate: $21-22/hour depending on experience
Location: Albertville, AL
Laboratory Technician Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or chemical training preferred
Previous experience in chemical manufacturing, materials handling, or industrial operations preferred
Knowledge of chemical safety, handling procedures, and hazard communication (HAZCOM)
Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) and work instructions
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate pumps, valves, and forklifts (certification a plus)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures
Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, and protective clothing
About the Laboratory Technician Role
As a Lab Tech, your responsibilities will include:
Receive and inspect incoming raw materials, bulk chemicals, and packaged materials
Verify materials against purchase orders, bills of lading, and specifications
Perform safe unloading of tankers, drums, totes, and other containers
Collect and label material samples in accordance with quality control procedures
Transfer materials to designated storage or production areas using pumps, hoses, and transfer systems
Monitor intake operations to prevent spills, contamination, or cross-mixing
Maintain accurate records of material intake, batch numbers, and inventory movements
Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.)
Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance or safety issues
Assist with housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized intake area
Communicate with quality, production, and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies
