Central Catholic Jr/Sr. High School
Central Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, established in 1957, serves grades 7‑12 in the Diocese of Lafayette, Indiana. It is an A‑rated school by the Indiana Department of Education with over 450 students and a 100% graduation rate. Central Catholic is part of the Lafayette Catholic School System, which has four campuses serving pre‑K through 12 with more than 1,000 students systemwide.
Primary Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the successful candidate will develop students' understanding of the English language—grammar, spelling, reading, and composition—while fostering the ability to interpret literature and poetry. The position may also include an athletic coaching assignment.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Indiana teaching license for the subject or grade taught.
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
Knowledge
Knowledge of grammar rules, spelling, diction, punctuation, and composition.
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems such as Schoology, Canvas, Blackboard, Angel, Moodle, etc.
Skills
Strong written and oral communication abilities.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to build parent and student relationships.
Ability to collaborate within and outside the department.
