Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift
Assignment Duration
This is a minimum 8-week contract position with potential extensions based on patient census.
Schedule
Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week.
Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory treatment and facilitating patient transport as clinically indicated. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and providing necessary education upon discharge.
Responsibilities
Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and operate various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods.
Monitor oximetry and capnography, and review chest x-rays for further evaluation.
Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist in respiratory care procedures.
Perform tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
Administer CPR according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of treatments and patient responses.
Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team regarding patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Active Respiratory Therapy license in the applicable state.
Relevant experience in providing respiratory care in a clinical setting.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
