Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist
Job Summary
he Substance U se/Mental Health Specialist is res p o n si b le f o r the p r ov is i o n o f cli n ical t h era p e u tic se r v ices t o pat i ents assigned to the CBI Forensic Assertive Community Treatment ( F/ ACT) team. The Substance U se/Mental Health Specialist will p r o v i d e a sses s m ent, di agn o sis and t r ea t m ent to patients ( a n d t h eir fa m il i es) whom are assigned to the F/ ACT team. Each area bel o w is defi n ed b y specific fu n ct i o n as it r e l at e s t o p o li c y , pr o ce s s , and t h e g o v ern in g ru l es set f o r th by t h e D epa r t m e n t o f B e h a v i o r al H e a l t h Se r v ices ( D B H S), Re g i o n al Beh a v i o ral Health A u th o rity ( RB H A), Bureau of Medical facilities Licensing (BMFL), a n d t h e C o d e o f Fe d er al R eg u l ations. E ach e m p l o y ee will b e held ac c o un tab l e a n d r esp on si b le f o r f u lf i lli n g e ach o f these d u t i es as w e ll a s havi n g the c a p a b ility t o ca r ry th e m o u t.
Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in a field related Behavioral Health or 1 year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment. Master’s Degree is preferred but not required. Preference give n to Master’s D egree in field related to behavioral health and/or has been licensed at the associate level with The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Psychologist, Social worker, Counselor, Marriage and family therapist or Substance A buse C ounselor.
1 -3 years of full -time Health Care related work experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations is preferred but not required .
