POSITION SUMMARY:

RN's are responsible for performing clinical duties within their designated scope of practice that also promotes excellent patient care. Administers appropriate medications to patients within assigned area of responsibility at the direction/order by the physician. RN's are responsible for accurate documentation of clinical history, maintain a radiation-protected environment for themselves and patients and can operate routine equipment as well as monitor CT IV's and sedation of patients.

Shift Details: M - F / 4/10s rotating days off

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Careful monitoring of the patient during Coronary CT Angiography

Responsible for accurate documentation of patients’ clinical history, administered procedures, medications and other pertinent patient care information in the medical record and CR RIS system

Assess and treat patients during procedures and during times of medical distress

Access patient's venous system by starting an IV or through an implanted port for contrast administration and or lab values

Administers medications under the direction of the provider to patients during radiologic procedures

Maintains and procures complete and accurate inventory of all necessary emergency medical supplies, including controlled substance count

Performs and abides by sterile technique standards

Complies with all CR organizational and clinical policy and procedures that apply to the role

Assists the technologist with patient throughout to maximize workflow efficiencies

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Licensing/Certification:

RN/LPN

ACLS/BLS

Experience (years and type):

3-5 years of Radiology and Cardiac experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role

Must be computer literate

Must be able to access a patient’s medical chart for anything that may interfere with their radiologic exam or procedure

Must be able to adequately update a patient’s medical chart for future clinicians needs

Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.

Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time

Must have good communication skills

Travel Required (% of time):

0-25%

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Full day of walking and standing

Lifting more than 50 lbs
