Compensation: Negotiated contract, licensed salary schedule (DOE), $56,530 – $104,459 per year

General Description
This role provides educational programs and/or consultation to parents and community preschools, and meets the individual needs of children with disabilities and/or special needs, from birth to five years of age. Activities include teaching in self‑contained classrooms, home visits, family coaching, parent education, multidisciplinary team meetings, curriculum development, preparation of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and assessment of progress and program effectiveness.
Qualifications
Current Oregon Teaching License through TSPC in early childhood, elementary, special education, or related field; or ability to obtain license within specified timeline.
Previous experience working with children with special needs.
Valid Driver’s License, available transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through professional development and inclusive practices.
Professional and effective human relations skills.
Strong computer and internet‑based application skills (email, internet, Google Suite, MS Word).
Knowledge and experience with the development and implementation of IFSPs.
Effective communication and collaboration with students, parents, school personnel, and mental health professionals.
Proficiency in managing student behavior and utilizing effective strategies.
Essential Functions
Assess children for cognitive, personal‑social, and adaptive development; collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to develop and implement IFSPs and monitor progress.
Create and reinforce developmentally appropriate curriculum to promote learning across all development areas.
Consult, educate, and support parents through home visits, daycare visits, and community preschool interactions.
Provide consultation and support to community preschool and childcare providers regarding children with special needs.
Occasionally conduct in‑service training for staff, parents, or community providers.
Perform case‑management duties: review child eligibility, prepare team reports, develop IFSP goals and documents, maintain required records, and refer families to community resources.
Provide direction, training, and oversight to educational assistants.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
