Network Engineer - Venue Floater

Position Overview:

Act as a flexible, traveling network engineer to provide rapid-response onsite implementation and troubleshooting support across tournament venues. This role fills gaps across workstreams (implementation, staging overflow, ad-hoc requirements) and requires strong customer interaction and the ability to work nights/weekends aligned to event operations.

Key responsibilities
Provide onsite network implementation support, including CLI configuration of Cisco Catalyst switches (L2/L3) following standard scripts.
Troubleshoot LAN/Wi?Fi connectivity using OSI Layer 1-4 methods; coordinate with other technical teams to restore service quickly.
Support ad-hoc requirements and last-minute changes, including validation testing and documentation of completed work.
Communicate directly with venue stakeholders to triage issues, collect details, and provide clear status and next steps.
Required qualifications

CCNA-level networking capability (certification preferred).
Strong hands-on Cisco switching configuration and troubleshooting background (Catalyst L2/L3, CLI).
Troubleshooting proficiency across OSI Layer 1-4 and familiarity with LAN/Wi?Fi operations.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively; adaptable to changing priorities and locations.
Preferred qualifications

Familiarity with Cisco Client, Palo Alto firewalls, and Windows DHCP in operational environments.
Prior experience in stadium/venue networks, live event operations, or time-critical deployments.
