Position Overview
Sacks Tierney P.A., a highly regarded, full-service Arizona law firm based in Scottsdale, is seeking a motivated Estate Planning Attorney with 3–6 years of experience to join our growing trusts and estates practice. For more than 65 years, Sacks Tierney has built a reputation for excellence and client service, guiding individuals, families, businesses, and fiduciaries through complex legal matters with expertise, integrity, and a practical, client-centered approach.
The ideal candidate will have experience advising individuals and families on comprehensive estate planning strategies and will be comfortable managing client relationships while collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys and professionals.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients to design thoughtful estate plans that address wealth preservation, tax planning, family governance, and long-term asset protection. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on both traditional estate planning documents and more advanced strategies, while developing strong client relationships and collaborating with financial advisors, accountants, and other professional advisors who support our clients’ long-term planning goals.

Key Responsibilities
Draft and implement estate planning documents, including:
Revocable and irrevocable trusts
Wills
Durable powers of attorney
Health care directives
Advanced estate planning structures
Advise clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning strategies
Assist high-net-worth individuals and families with wealth transfer planning
Review existing estate plans and recommend updates based on changes in law or client circumstances
Work collaboratively with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals involved in the client’s planning team
Support trust funding and implementation of planning strategies
Provide guidance regarding asset titling and beneficiary designations
Participate in client meetings and maintain ongoing client relationships
Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm’s estate planning practice
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
2–5 years of estate planning experience in a law firm environment
Active license and good standing with the Arizona Bar
Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Client-focused approach and ability to explain complex planning concepts clearly
Experience with estate tax planning strategies preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience with:
High-net-worth estate planning
Business succession planning
Family limited partnerships or LLC structures
Irrevocable trust strategies
Familiarity with estate planning software and trust administration processes
