Job Description
The Girls High School Golf Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the girls golf program. This includes fostering student‑athlete development, promoting sportsmanship, supporting academic success, and building a competitive and positive team culture aligned with the school’s mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Organization
Plan, organize, and oversee all practices, competitions, and team events
Develop a comprehensive program that builds skills progressively across all levels
Manage scheduling, transportation coordination, and communication with athletes and families
Maintain inventory, care, and organization of equipment and uniforms
Coaching & Athlete Development
Teach fundamental and advanced golf skills, strategies, and rules of the game
Provide individualized instruction to support athlete growth and performance
Promote physical conditioning, mental toughness, and course management skills
Encourage multi-level participation and long‑term development of the program
Student-Athlete Support
Monitor academic progress and promote academic accountability
Foster leadership, teamwork, discipline, and character development
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful team environment
Model and reinforce good sportsmanship and ethical behavior
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all school, district, and UHSSA policies
Ensure proper supervision and safety protocols at all times
Complete required trainings (e.g., first aid, concussion awareness, background check)
Maintain accurate records, eligibility requirements, and team documentation
Communication & Community Engagement
Communicate effectively with players, parents, administration, and staff
Collaborate with other coaches and school personnel to support student success
Promote the golf program within the school and community
Organize team meetings, parent meetings, and postseason recognition
Qualifications
Previous coaching or competitive golf experience preferred
Knowledge of golf rules, techniques, and course strategy
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships with student‑athletes
Commitment to student development both academically and athletically
Meet all district and state requirements for coaching positions
Work Environment & Expectations
Seasonal position requiring after‑school practices and travel for competitions
Occasional weekend or extended‑day tournaments
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
