Research Technician II, Molecular Biology (940170) – Works under minimal supervision, assisting in cell culture, molecular biology assays, and data record‑keeping. Primary responsibilities include cell culture and molecular biology procedures, with prior cell culture experience required.
Responsibilities
Performs routine scientific and medical research work in biology, chemistry, physics, or related fields.
Assembles and/or operates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
Records research data following prescribed procedures and discusses results with supervisor.
Assists in collecting data for project reports.
Reviews literature and consults with supervisor regarding new procedures.
Might plan for and supervise lower‑grade laboratory personnel on limited research phases.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in the field of assignment and no required experience.
Two (2) years of college with emphasis in coursework related to the field of assignment.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience
No experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
2 years laboratory experience at the level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent, with at least two years of college.
4 years laboratory experience, including two years at the level of Laboratory Technical Assistant, with High School graduation or GED equivalent.
