Position Summary
Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites, and job development for individuals seeking employment in the South Orange County area.
Aliso Viejo – availability Sundays 10:00 AM‑2:00 PM, Mondays 9:00 AM‑1:00 PM, Tuesdays 5:00 PM‑8:00 PM, Wednesdays 5:00 PM‑8:00 PM.
Laguna Hills – availability Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 AM‑1:00 PM.
Starting Rate $24.00 /hour. Plus mileage and cell‑phone reimbursement and bonus incentives for job placements $100‑$600 (prorated).
Employment Coach Responsibilities
Job development, including resume building, practice interviews, and learning new employability skills.
Transportation to and from work, and assistance with accessing community.
Maintaining employment and productivity.
Discovering interests, skills, and employment goals.
Creating a meaningful daily schedule by working with the circle of support.
Developing friendly, professional, and respectful relationships with the person(s) assigned and building positive relationships with co‑workers, roommates, and neighbors.
Conducting frequent job‑site analysis—pre, during, and post‑employment.
Implementing adaptation strategies and devices based on individual needs.
Providing typical and specialized healthcare needs as required.
Implementing individualized service plan goals and SMART objectives.
Monitoring behavior support strategy system and plans.
Performing task analysis and data‑based training decisions.
Completing required documentation: eRSP daily care notes, clocking, and employee personnel files.
Attending staff development training and other assigned trainings.
Communicating important updates to supervisor, circle of support, and stakeholders.
Dressing professionally and following the dress‑code policy.
Demonstrating proper emergency procedures and reporting emergencies.
Collaborating with the individual served, Lead Employment Coach, and Support Manager on employment activities.
Contacting prospective employers and facilitating job applications.
Shadowing and training other coaches on the individual(s) you support.
Completing all tasks assigned by the Support Manager, Director of Services, and CEO.
Skills and Qualifications
Two years of college or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
Job development and on‑the‑job support experience preferred but not required.
Experience supporting people with disabilities, preferably in community integrated settings.
Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills; proficiency with computers and online platforms.
Positive behavior support training experience preferred.
Commitment to full inclusion of all persons with disabilities.
Commitment to integrated employment for all persons with disabilities.
Commitment to self‑advocacy and person‑centered planning.
Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Physical Demands
May sit, stand, and walk for varying periods during an eight‑hour workday.
May bend, stoop, climb stairs, reach, balance, push, pull, and move throughout office or community settings.
May lift and carry items up to ten (10) pounds occasionally.
Requires both‑handed use of computers or mobile devices.
Requires sufficient visual and hearing capacity; may use assistive devices.
Requires driving an automobile for work functions.
May use smartphones and other mobile electronic devices per company policies.
