Job Title: Biobank Technician
Location: American Fork, UT
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Duration: Contract (Coverage for FTE on leave)
The Biobank Technician is responsible for receiving, placing into storage, retrieving, and destroying irreplaceable biological material according to specific and critical requirements.
Accountable for performing all assigned tasks with attention to detail and accuracy to maintain the integrity of the samples and the storage process.
Register samples in the inventory management system.
Scanning barcodes.
Quality checks of material against shipment manifest.
Store materials at required temperature in designated storage area.
Pull and package materials requested for shipments and discards.
Perform quality control checks.
Perform all functions methodically and in accordance with SOPs.
Adhere to regulatory standards and other requirements as outlined in SOPs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school diploma required.
Training specific to warehouse management preferred.
2 years' experience in a maintenance, warehouse, or logistics environment.
Experience in the handling and safety of biohazardous materials preferred.
Microsoft Excel experience required.
Ability to perform tasks with excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
Strong attention to detail for repetitive tasks.
The physical demands of performing the essential functions of this job include sitting or standing for up to six hours, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs. occasionally, and other activities.
