Position Summary
The
Materials Coordinator
plays a critical role in supporting warehouse and production operations by ensuring accurate receiving, handling, packaging, and shipping of materials. This role requires attention to detail, strong system skills, and the ability to safely handle materials in a fast‑paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Receive, verify, and process incoming materials, supplies, and equipment against packing slips and authorizations
Perform system and handheld barcode data entry related to receiving, WIP, cycle counts, and inventory movement
Package and ship materials according to carrier specifications and quality standards
Process domestic and international shipments using UPS, FedEx, DHL, and common carriers (including COD and will‑call shipments)
Handle materials requiring Certificates of Compliance and quality inspection
Pull materials for kits, shortages, work orders, and shipments
Create and update repair work orders for non‑conforming material
Perform daily inventory cycle counts and update material locations in the system
Maintain warehouse equipment (e.g., printers, tape dispensers, forklifts)
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work area
Follow all procedures outlined in Elma’s Quality Manual
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3–5 years of warehouse experience
in a production or manufacturing environment
Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills
Proficiency with PCs and experience using
MS Word, Excel, and inventory/database systems
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow detailed procedures and recognize deviations from standard practices
Forklift certification preferred
(or ability to obtain)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials up to
70 lbs
(approximately 80% of the time)
Prolonged standing and walking on concrete floors
Frequent handling, grasping, reaching, and fine‑motor manipulation
Work performed in a warehouse environment with moderate noise levels
Minimal exposure to chemical fumes
