Civil Estimator – Telecom & Infrastructure (Business Development Focus)
Location: Lexington, NC or LaGrange, NC (Onsite)
Salary: $100K–$110K Base + % of Gross Profit (OTE $130K–$170K+)
We are representing a growing infrastructure contractor seeking a Civil Estimator with a strong business development mindset to drive revenue growth across telecom and civil construction projects.
This is not a traditional back-office estimator role. This individual will operate as a “hunter,” owning the full lifecycle—from identifying opportunities to securing contracts—while delivering accurate, competitive estimates.
Position Overview
The Civil Estimator will lead estimating efforts for telecom infrastructure and civil construction projects (drilling, foundations, utilities, sitework), while actively developing new business relationships and expanding market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for projects ranging from $50K to $2M+
Develop pricing strategies to win competitive bids
Generate new business with telecom carriers, tower companies, and general contractors
Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities
Attend site walks, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings
Lead proposal development through contract award
Serve as the primary client contact during preconstruction
Partner with operations for smooth project handoff
Required Experience
5–10+ years in civil construction estimating
Experience with:
Sitework, utilities, foundations, or drilling
Telecom infrastructure experience strongly preferred:
Fiber, small cell, or tower construction
Proven ability to win work (not just estimate)
Client-facing / business development experience
Strong understanding of construction cost drivers and methods
Preferred Background
Existing relationships with:
Telecom carriers
Tower companies
Regional general contractors
Experience in:
Directional drilling
Foundations / geotechnical work
Compensation & Growth
Base: $100K–$110K
Commission: % of gross profit on awarded work
OTE: $130K–$170K+
