Payroll Specialist
Salary Range: $72,000.00 - $133,500.00
iRobot is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our HR team to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our organization. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing and supporting a bi-weekly, multi-state payroll operations in the US (200+ employees), and Canada. Ideally you will bring a solution-backed approach to problem solving, are proactive, a critical thinker, and someone who will use innovative ideas to overcome obstacles.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for processing bi-weekly multi-state US and Canada payroll for employees in accordance with local, legal and tax requirements.
Serve as backup for monthly payroll processing of UK and NL in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the coordination efforts within Human Resources, Benefits and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee changes such as new hires, terminations, and compensation updates.
Maintain accurate payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
Administer payroll-related functions including direct deposits, garnishments, and benefits deductions workflows from Workday for payroll processing.
Collaborate with payroll providers to prepare and submit payroll tax filings and assist with year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).
Respond to employees and management questions, concerns or requests regarding payroll including review of payroll data for discrepancies and resolve issues proactively.
Liaise with accounting team to ensure proper mapping for income/deductions, support preparation of monthly journal entry and account reconciliations for all payroll related accounts
Maintain employee related information in Oracle R12 related to non-exempt employees including timecard processing.
Support payroll, 401K, internal and external audit requests and responses.
Working with payroll provide, support tax compliance with Federal, State and local requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve payroll procedures and system efficiencies.
To Be Successful You Will Have:
5+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment; experience utilizing ADP a must
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, local tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre and post-tax benefits, 401K plans, and leave of absences rules and regulations
Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
Must be efficient, organized and have strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment that changes quickly
Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar)
Experience with Oracle R12 and Workday a plus
