Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate remediation projects, drafting documents to address technical reviews and queries; tracking correspondence to ensure timely completion
Track project progress to ensure sites are moving toward closure
Assist and/or complete special projects approved by the supervisor
Provide customer service to and respond to inquiries from both internal and external customers
Key Qualifications
Experience interpreting and/or applying environmental statutes, rules, regulations, and/or governmental policies
Training and/or experience with the Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP)
Required Education & Experience
A bachelor’s degree major in biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, earth science, geology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Additional Requirements
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.
Transfer Opportunity
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineering Specialist I-V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Corrective Action Specialist I-V series.
Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Remediation Division.
