Job Details
Salary: $18 - $19 per hour. Shift: First. Work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM. Education required: No Degree.
Responsibilities
Precision Inspection: Perform detailed visual and functional inspections on incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods.
Standard Enforcement: Utilize SOPs and "Golden Samples" to verify product compliance.
Testing & Measurement: Use precision tools (calipers, scales, gauges) and RF scanners to validate product dimensions and weights.
Quarantine Management: Identify, "Red-Tag," and physically isolate non-conforming materials to prevent accidental shipment.
Reporting: Maintain accurate digital logs of pass/fail rates and document root causes of recurring defects.
Compliance Audits: Conduct random spot‑checks on the packing line to ensure correct labeling and dunnage usage.
Additional Responsibilities
Document Control:
Ensuring you are looking at the latest version of a spec sheet. Using old specs leads to false fails.
Testing Protocols:
Performing stress tests (e.g., drop tests for packaging) or functional tests (e.g., does this electronic device power on?).
Label Verification:
Checking that barcodes (UPC/EAN) are scannable and match the physical item inside the box.
Vendor Feedback:
Keeping notes on which suppliers consistently send damaged goods to help the purchasing department make better decisions.
