Description
You will be the System Safety Engineer Sr for the Fighter System Safety Team which is responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, and control using quantitative and qualitative techniques typically used in the design of aircraft weapon systems and sustainment activities.

Responsibilities
As the System Safety Engineer Sr you will be responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, control, and coordination in support of system safety activities for internal and external stakeholders of fighter aircraft platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

Perform Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Software Hazard Analysis (SWHA), and other safety analysis methodologies.

Conduct risk assessments and trade studies to evaluate and optimize design choices and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate safety hazards.

Interface and coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.

Establish system safety requirements in accordance with applicable standards and evaluate functional impacts of non‑compliance in coordination with design subject‑matter experts.

Location and Clearance
This position is in Fort Worth, TX. The position requires a U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related engineering degree.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills

Military or civilian flight experience.

Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754.

Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes.

Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matters.

Experience with military or government programs.

Knowledge of statistical analysis methods.

Model-based system engineering (MBSE) training or experience.

Experience leading a project or team.

Experience working with international customers and suppliers.

Experience with communicating cross-functionally.

Full life‑cycle experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools.

Ability to operate autonomously with minimal direction from senior management.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in the resolution of highly complex issues, including direct interaction with senior leadership and a demonstrated ability to deal with complex and challenging customer and supplier relationships.

Experience with software safety requirements across the full development lifecycle from hazard identification through development to system/software qualification test.
