Performance Pay:
Available annually
New Hire Experience Credit:
$400 per full‑time year of certified teaching or similar work, max $2,800. National Board Certification $3,000 annually
New Hire Education Credit:
$80/hour of graduate level credits: BA + 96 hours max, MA + 96 hours max, $1,250 for first advanced degree, $500 per additional advanced degree
Qualifications
Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate – Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies or Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies
Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
Broad knowledge of computer science hardware and software applications
Information Technology Specialist – Java preferred
Experience with Career and Technical Education desired
Knowledge of instructional practices that support student‑centered learning
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate expertise in Software & App Design (Computer Science)
Oversee a Career and Technical Student Organization (FBLA or SkillsUSA)
Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders
Participate in recruitment needs for program
Plan and implement a program of study that meets individual student needs within the district curriculum
Use effective teaching techniques and materials to achieve curriculum goals
Create weekly written lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives
Monitor and assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
Diagnose, instruct, and evaluate specific student needs, seeking assistance from district specialists as required
Communicate curriculum aims and objectives clearly and organizedly
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity
Assist administration in implementing policies and rules for student behavior
Develop and implement classroom rules of behavior fairly and justly
Provide educational experiences that develop personal‑social skills, decision‑making, self‑image, and life skills
Promote and follow district philosophy, policies, regulations, and procedures
Communicate concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents, and community professionally
Supervise students on school property or at school‑sponsored activities
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
Assume responsibilities assigned by principal/supervisor, including committee work and professional assignments
Maintain accurate, complete records as required by law and policy
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Participate in department and school meetings and initiatives
