Job Description
Identify and recommend appropriate security levels for newly received inmates in the Ohio Penal System, completing classification instruments, and making placement recommendations. Screen inmates for program eligibility, keep daily reports, complete risk assessments for the Prison Rape Elimination Act, interview and assess inmates for the Prison Screening Tool and Prison Intake Tool, and enter/update information in the ORAS system. Augment and clarify file information through interviews, observe and document any changes impacting classification levels, submit changes for review, and communicate with inmates, families, and other agencies through telephone and written inquiries.

Qualifications

18 months experience in criminal justice, corrections, sociology, social work, psychology, or related field.

Or completion of an associate core program in criminal justice, sociology, social science, psychology or related field.

Or equivalent experience.

Job skills: Corrections, Investigation, Interviewing, Communications, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Written Communication.
