Davis Pet Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital offering wellness care, surgery, internal medicine, hospitalization, and dental care. As one of the few AAHA‑accredited clinics in the area, our team of veterinarians and support staff adhere to the highest standards of facility and pet care.
About the Role
Davis Pet Hospital in Collinsville, IL is adding another veterinarian to our AAHA‑accredited practice! Our team currently consists of 5 veterinarians and 4 CVTs plus 3 CVTs in training. The technicians are competent and support anesthesia, catheter placement, radiographs, blood draws, and more. We are a cohesive, compassionate team that encourages the best medicine. Any new veterinarian will flourish as part of our team.
We welcome doctors of all experience levels. For new graduates, current doctors are excited about mentoring. Our busy practice will ensure a steady and versatile caseload.
For doctors with a surgical interest, our surgical caseload includes:
Routine soft tissue
Simple fracture repair
Emergency surgery (c‑section, pyometra, foreign body)
Cruciate repairs
Splenectomies
Cystotomies and more
Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect diagnostic samples, and interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
