We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team as a Patient Billing Support Specialist! The Patient Billing Support Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for patients of a vision practice with questions about their bills, insurance coverage, and payment options. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients, thrives in a call-focused environment, and has experience explaining medical billing in a clear, compassionate way.
Responsibilities:
Answer incoming patient phone calls related to billing, statements, balances, and payment options.
Explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and billing terminology in a clear and courteous manner
Research and resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and concerns accurately and timely
Document customer interactions and actions taken
Coordinate with clinical, billing, and insurance staff to resolve patient issues
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

Qualifications:
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policies as well as general insurance knowledge preferred
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills
