Position Purpose: Teaching at the undergraduate level, advising students, and supporting strategic initiatives for the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the Health and Human Performance Department. Full‑time position with full‑time benefits. Must be 19 years or older to apply. Preferred start date: January 2027 (Spring Semester) or July 2027.

Responsibilities

Teach courses in health and human performance based on departmental needs and candidate qualifications.

Engage in departmental planning, course and program assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and assistance with student recruitment and activities.

Support the growth of the college and department through innovative ideas and leadership experiences.

Provide leadership for student internships and job opportunities, including maintaining and establishing contacts in business and industry.

Actively pursue scholarly and academic research activities that are mutually beneficial.

Demonstrate enthusiasm for Concordia University’s mission and vision.

Work with colleagues from multiple departments to serve the university.

Other faculty duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related field preferred. Candidates who have earned a master’s and who agree to pursue a terminal degree will be considered.

Experience

Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level.

Desire to develop professional relationships with students as instructor, mentor, and advisor.

Active Christian membership required. Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod membership preferred.

Proficiencies

Proficient with technology, software applications including Blackboard, Banner, and related applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Ability to juggle multiple tasks on sometimes short deadlines.

Maintain high standards for institutional, staff, faculty, employee, and financial data used for business operations.

Active membership in a Christian congregation required. Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod membership preferred.
