Operations Team Member

The Operations Team Member supports the production of high-quality restaurant furniture, including table tops, garbage vestibules, and booths. In this role, you sand, grind, assemble, and cut components while using a variety of hand and power tools, measuring tools, and sit-down forklifts in a manufacturing environment. You work closely with a small team, contributing to efficient, accurate, and safe production processes.
Responsibilities
Sand, grind, assemble, and cut restaurant furniture components such as table tops, garbage vestibules, and booths.
Use hand and power tools, including hand grinders, to shape, finish, and assemble materials according to specifications.
Operate measuring tools accurately to ensure components meet required dimensions and quality standards.
Safely operate sit-down forklifts to move materials and finished products within the warehouse and production areas.
Follow production instructions, work orders, and drawings to complete tasks on time and to the required quality.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, especially in dusty millwork conditions.
Collaborate with team members in a cell-based work environment, supporting each other to meet production goals.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and issued protective gear such as respirator face cups when needed.
Stand and perform hands-on production work for up to 10-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment.
Participate in training and development activities to continuously improve skills and production methods.
Essential Skills
6 months to 1 year of sit-down forklift experience.
1 to 2 years of recent construction, millwork, or cabinetry experience within the last 2 years.
1 to 2 years of recent hand and power tool experience within the last 6 months.
1 to 2 years of experience using measuring tools accurately in a production or construction environment.
Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment, verified through past work experience.
Experience performing general labor tasks in a production, construction, or similar setting.
Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools for sanding, grinding, cutting, and assembly.
Capability to work in a dusty millwork area and in warmer temperatures during the summer.
Reliable teamwork and communication skills to work effectively in small production cells.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in general production or construction environments.
Experience with cabinetry or millwork projects involving detailed assembly and finishing.
Comfort working with various materials used in furniture production.
Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and processes through structured training.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment, including respirator face cups when required.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and millwork environment focused on producing restaurant furniture. You work primarily on the 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed. The work area can be dusty, especially in the millwork section, and may be warm during the summer months. Employees may wear an issued respirator face cup when working in dusty conditions. Sit-down forklifts are used in the warehouse, and daily work involves regular use of hand and power tools, hand grinders, and measuring tools. The dress code is casual and practical for a production setting, with jeans or shorts, a t-shirt, and steel-toed boots required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenyon, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
