Join a dynamic company specializing in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for various industries across more than 120 countries. With a recent expansion allowing for over 50% production increase, we are actively seeking skilled MIG welders to join our team.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components.
Interpret work orders and utilize basic hand tools such as tape measurers and specialty equipment.
Operate all equipment within the work area and perform rework as required.
Support Production System initiatives and participate in continuous improvement events.
Cross-train and move to other work areas to support production needs.
Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using shop math and layout techniques.
Perform MIG welding using various arc and gas welding equipment.
Inspect assembly/components for conformance to specifications.
Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
Train new and current associates.
Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
Maintain daily time records.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma/GED required.
AWS D.1.1 weld certification required.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend necessary documentation.
Basic computer usage knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Vocational training is desired.
Skills in MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding.
Proficiency in blueprint reading and fabrication techniques.

Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing/production environment that is not climate controlled, fast-paced, and performance-driven. The preferred dress code includes plain colored T-shirts (blue/grey), jeans, and steel-toed footwear. We are seeking welders for various shifts: first shift (6:30am - 3:00pm) and second shift (3:15pm - 11:45pm), with potential work on Saturdays and Friday nights.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Daleville, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.59 - $25.09/hr.
