Cost Accountant

Principle Duties:
Conduct detailed cost analysis to monitor and control company expenses.
Prepare cost reports for management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Maintain local JD Edwards general ledger and upload data in Crane Co financial consolidation system, HFM.
Responsible for Cycle Count tracking, reporting, and validating accuracy.
Ensure compliance with Cycle Count requirements to maintain Physical Inventory exemption.
Reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure proper valuation of inventory.
Monitor and report on inventory obsolescence and slow-moving items.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Implement and maintain cost control systems and procedures.
Work closely with production and purchasing departments to ensure cost-effective operations.
Assist with Business Process procedures & risk assessments (Sarbanes-Oxley 404).
Assist in audits and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure financial systems & procedures are in place to provide adequate internal controls.
Prepare monthly financial statements.
Perform Financial Analysis and Reconciliation of Intercompany, Balance Sheet and Bank Accounts.
Prepare Monthly reports including Cash Flow, Inventory Turns, Capital Spending, Order Backlog, Product Line, Headcount, and other statistical data.
Maintain Fixed Asset records, Capital Expenditure Requests and Audits.
Assist in development of Budgets and Forecasts.
Maintain Travel Card and P-Card program.
Prepare Sales & Property Tax reports.
Conduct special projects and analysis as requested by management.
Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CMA or CPA a plus.
3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
Excellent Excel, Microsoft Office, HFM and JD Edwards knowledge, preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
