Director of Real Estate Finance

Location: Bethesda, MD (Remote)
Compensation: $150,000 – $190,000 base salary + bonus potential
Employment Type: Full‑Time

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Real Estate Finance to support a rapidly growing, multi‑site healthcare services organization. This role is ideal for a finance leader who has partnered closely with operations to support site growth, de novo development, and geographic expansion, but who may not come from a traditional real estate company or REIT.

Rather than focusing on pure property investment, this role emphasizes real estate as an enabler of operational scale—supporting business units that operate across multiple locations and states. The position is fully remote, with periodic travel to support growth initiatives.

Why This Role Is Different

  • Designed for candidates from multisite operators (healthcare, outpatient services, retail, consumer services, or similar)

  • Focus on site‑level economics and capital planning, not asset management

  • High visibility partnership with senior leadership, operations, and clinical teams

  • Opportunity to shape real estate finance strategy during a period of accelerated expansion

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site‑level financial modeling for new locations, relocations, and expansions

  • Partner with development and operations teams on de novo projects, acquisitions, and market entry strategies

  • Evaluate leases, build‑outs, and real estate commitments through rigorous underwriting and ROI analysis

  • Support capital planning and long‑range forecasting tied to geographic growth

  • Analyze payer mix, reimbursement dynamics, and regulatory considerations impacting site performance

  • Present recommendations to executive leadership with clear, data‑driven insights

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Preferred Education

  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree

Minimum Experience Required

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience

  • Significant exposure to multisite healthcare, healthcare services, or real estate‑related finance

  • Hands‑on experience supporting de novo site development, acquisitions, or rapid geographic expansion

Preferred Experience

  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience

  • Multi‑state operational experience across the United States

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Deep expertise in financial modeling, real estate underwriting, and capital planning

  • Strong understanding of site‑level economics in a multisite operating environment

  • Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, payer mix, and regulatory frameworks

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence non‑finance stakeholders

  • Comfortable acting as a strategic partner to clinical and operational leaders

  • Willingness to travel periodically as business needs require

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred:

  • CFA or CPA highly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $150,000 – $190,000 (commensurate with experience)

  • Annual bonus opportunity

  • Comprehensive benefits package

  • Fully remote flexibility with meaningful strategic impact
