Finance Controller (FP&A) – Investment Firm
Santa Monica, CA (3–4 days onsite)
A well-established investment firm in Santa Monica is seeking a hands-on Finance Controller to lead accounting and financial planning for the organization. This role will partner closely with leadership and take ownership of the firm’s financial reporting, forecasting, and overall finance operations.

Responsibilities
Own firmwide financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and management reporting
Oversee accounting operations including AR/AP, payroll, and general ledger
Improve finance systems, reporting workflows, and automation
Coordinate firm and GP tax processes with external advisors
Partner with leadership on financial planning and operational strategy
Background
Ideally a minimum of 6+ years of accounting and tax experience
Experience within financial services, investment management, audit, or professional services required
Private equity or venture capital experience preferred
CPA preferred
Strong Excel skills and comfort working in financial systems (QuickBooks Online experience a plus)
Location: Santa Monica with 3–4 days onsite each week.
