Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Engineer (Infrastructure Engineer 3) to support day-to-day operations of enterprise Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.
This role focuses on hands-on platform operations, including cluster maintenance, incident response, monitoring, and operational automation. The engineer will ensure platform stability, reliability, and compliance while supporting production workloads running on OpenShift-based infrastructure.
This is strictly a platform operations role — not responsible for application development or migration work.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Operations
Support routine operations across Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters
Perform cluster builds, maintenance tasks, and node management
Assist with deployments and operational execution tasks
Follow standard operating procedures (runbooks)
Incident Management
Participate in incident response and on-call rotation
Triage and troubleshoot production issues
Document incidents, root cause findings, and preventive actions
Ensure timely acknowledgment of alerts
Monitoring & Observability
Monitor dashboards, alerts, and system logs
Use observability tools (Grafana, Splunk, etc.) for issue detection and analysis
Escalate issues per operational guidelines and runbooks
Automation & Scripting
Contribute to automation using Python, Bash, or similar tools
Reduce repetitive operational tasks through scripting improvements
Support AIOps-driven operational enhancements (as applicable)
Operational Compliance
Follow security policies, change control processes, and audit requirements
Ensure adherence to operational standards and platform governance
Collaboration
Work closely with senior engineers and platform leads
Support continuous improvement of platform stability and reliability
Participate in knowledge sharing and documentation efforts
Required Qualifications
3+ years experience in Systems Operations, IT Operations, or Platform Support
2+ years experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container platforms
2+ years experience with Linux system administration
2+ years experience with container technologies (Docker or equivalent)
