Senior Staff Reentry Project Engineer

Job Overview
The mission matters. With advancing defense technology at our core, Lockheed Martin’s Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team supports the Navy’s mission to provide affordable and credible strategic defense. The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and a Senior Project Engineer is needed to deliver new technologies while maintaining the technical requirements of strategic deterrence.

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and synthesize data from diverse sources to surface trends, risks, opportunities, and future projects that benefit Strategic Reentry Programs (SRP) and Navy Reentry.

Work with functions such as Systems Engineering, Chief Engineering, Program Planning, Finance, etc., to develop and execute Navy Reentry business rhythms and projects.

Lead large, cross‑functional teams to build integrated solutions and set SRP and Navy Reentry for success.

Improve processes and mentor the team, following existing program and engineering procedures and identifying improvements for organization, team efficiency, and execution.

Coordinate work across specialties, managing scope, dependencies, and integration points between different groups.

Provide mentorship, guidance, and serve as the Team Lead to the Project Engineer team, identifying projects that will support and advance the objectives of the Reentry Navy organization.

Travel as required.

Basic Qualifications

Experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).

Budgeting experience (CAM).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

Project management experience.

Data analytics experience.

Demonstrated ability to take a project from conceptualization to successful completion.

Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance; US citizenship required.

Desired Skills

Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) experience.

Experience with Navy customers.

Black Belt certification.

Tableau skills.

Active Top Secret Clearance.

Proficiency with Confluence.

Green Belt certification.

Security Clearance
Top Secret clearance required; the position requires a government security clearance and US citizenship.

Pay and Benefits
The annual base salary range is $141,300–$244,835 in California, Massachusetts, and New York metropolitan areas, and $122,900–$216,660 in other states. Eligible employees receive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. This position is incentive‑plan eligible.
