Higher Education Construction Superintendent

Superintendent

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities from project mobilization through closeout. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage daily field operations for higher education construction projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to maintain schedule and workflow
• Enforce jobsite safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field challenges
• Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders
• Maintain detailed documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and inspections
• Ensure construction quality aligns with plans, specifications, and project standards
• Collaborate with Project Managers and ownership teams to maintain project alignment
• Mentor and support junior field staff to promote professional development

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership ability and proven experience managing commercial construction projects. Qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Experience with higher education, institutional, or large-scale commercial projects preferred
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and trade coordination
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Experience with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) is a plus
