
In Room Dining Captain

The In-Room Dining Captain oversees the daily operations of in-room dining service, ensuring all orders are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with the highest level of guest service. This position acts as a liaison between the culinary team, service team, and guests, leading by example and upholding luxury service standards at all times.
Essential Functions
Supervise, support, and assist In-Room Dining Servers to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Coordinate with the kitchen, stewarding, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
Perform quality checks on orders before delivery to ensure presentation and accuracy.
Act as the primary point of contact for VIP and special service requests.
Handle guest concerns and service recovery promptly and professionally.
Train and mentor in-room dining staff, promoting service excellence and adherence to resort standards.
Assist with scheduling, side work assignments, and daily shift briefings.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health & safety regulations.
Manage inventory and ensure adequate par levels of equipment and supplies.
Process guest orders using POS systems and ensure proper billing procedures.
Monitor team grooming, punctuality, and adherence to uniform standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications / Special Skills
Minimum 2 years of food & beverage experience in luxury hospitality, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong knowledge of fine dining service and etiquette.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead a team with a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.
Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Micros, Aloha, etc.).
Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
ServSafe and/or alcohol handling certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry trays up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, and push carts for extended periods.
Must be able to navigate guest rooms and corridors safely and efficiently.
