ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Electronics Technician, Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions; performs tasks such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment, and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes and amplifiers. The person works under close supervision, receiving technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. Will be required to work overtime and weekends as required.

GENERAL DUTIES

The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals; industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.

Will be required to possess a good understanding of basic electronic theories and techniques and familiarity with standard electronic components.

The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Optics associated with laser and camera systems a plus.

OTHER DUTIES
May be required to perform other job-related tasks when requested. Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas such as environmental, safety, and security. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics. Requires manual dexterity necessary to perform repairs and modifications to small assemblies such as integrated circuit boards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations. May be required to work offshore in all-weather environments and may be required to go on temporary duty travel (TDY).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
