
Data Center Operations Technician

Key Responsibilities
Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, and troubleshoot network issues.
Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services.
Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
Contribute to documentation and process‑improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
Physical Requirements
Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Working in an industrial environment.
Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering night and day shifts).
Essential Requirements
Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required.

Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.

Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.

Work shift work that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Basic Qualifications
Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering, etc.).
Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
Experience training and onboarding of new team members.

The base salary range for this position is USD 30.00‑54.00 hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
