Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Mattoon, Illinois, United States
Start date: 05/18/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x10‑hour days
Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
Weekly pay: $2,261–$2,338 per week
Setting: acute care OR department
Travel: temporary assignment

OR operating room setting in an acute care environment
Responsibilities
Provide circulating RN support in the OR, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety throughout procedures.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and patient‑focused care.
Prepare the sterile field, manage instrument counts, handle specimens, and ensure equipment readiness.
Monitor intraoperative patient status, document pertinent observations, and assist with procedure support as needed.
Support room turnover and instrument processing to maintain readiness for subsequent cases.
Participate in on‑call coverage (5–6 shifts per month) and weekend coverage as assigned.
Requirements
Active Illinois RN license (Nursys) required.
BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) active.
3+ years of circulating OR experience required.
Proficient in ortho cases (total joints, hip fractures, arthroscopy, ORIFs, and shoulder scopes/replacements).
Proficient with General, Neuro, Vascular, Gynecology, and Urology cases.
Permanent address required; facility will not consider local candidates within a 50‑mile radius.
Ability to work in an OR environment and to meet assignment requirements.
