Job Summary and Qualifications
This is a Part-Time position to help cover mid and evening rotating shifts. Mid shift is 10 am‑6:30 pm and evening is 2:30 pm‑11:00 pm, primarily Tuesday‑Thursday, but may include other days as needed.
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.
What You Will Do In This Role
Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
Accurately performs required calculations
Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral compounding
Compliant with all USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements (i.e. cleaning laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
Identifies critical issues, prioritizes workload and communicates to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner
Completes all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency
Interacts in person and by phone with hospital personnel politely and appropriately
Performs other duties as assigned
Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"
What qualifications you will need
National Certification (PTCB or NHA) required
Texas State Board Registration required (Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern)
IV certification preferred
IV room experience a plus
1-3 years of hospital experience preferred
Associate's Degree or equivalent level of education preferred
