Mechanic Maintenance HSM

ArcelorMittal Calvert is seeking a Mechanical Support Technician for the Hot Strip Mill Finishing Asset. This role is essential to supporting operational reliability and product quality.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance inspections, including mechanical, hydraulic, power transmission, lubrication, process pumps, motor alignment, and precision maintenance.
Housekeeping: maintain cleanliness of designated areas.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to execute maintenance tasks.
Apply QA/QC inspection knowledge.
Assist in Lock Out – Test Out procedures for equipment, systems, and sub-systems.
Troubleshoot production and quality issues with the Production and Quality teams.
Comply with OSHA safety and health regulations.
Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance services, data analysis, vibration, and thermography.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in the steel industry.
Experience with heavy industrial or mechanical equipment.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to read schematic and printed drawings.
Knowledge of refractory installation.
Preferred Qualifications
Accredited vocational or technical training in an industrial setting.
Experience on a Hot Strip Mill.
Basic knowledge of SAP.
Experience with high-pressure pumps and boiler feed pumps.
Experience with PDM activities: vibration, thermography, pump and motor alignment, ultrasonic inspections, etc.
Experience troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing hydraulics and lubrication systems.
