Sports Dietitian Fellow, Football
The Sports Dietitian Fellow will assist with the nutrition needs for the Football team and assist the Sports Dietitian in a variety of tasks to continue enhancing the sports nutrition program.
Responsibilities
Assist with nutrition needs for the Football team, including nutrition education and counseling, body composition assessment and interpretation, travel nutrition, pre-/post practice and game nutrition, fueling station operations, hydration and Gatorade sweat testing, nutrition inventory maintenance, cooking demos, grocery store tours, etc.
Oversee the following nutrition needs for the Football team:
Development and execution of an in-season nutrition education series for freshmen.
Maintenance of a hydration intervention table for high-risk athletes.
Nutrition inventory management.
Pre/during/post practice needs for one position group (to be determined) throughout the season.
Communicate and work with the Steelers Executive Chef and kitchen staff to coordinate training table menus and order nutrition products.
Assist with management of all football fueling stations, including training undergraduate and graduate volunteers.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of nutrition education materials and resources.
Perform various administrative duties.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the sports nutrition staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or a related field.
Registered Dietitian or RD eligible.
At least six months of experience in sports nutrition at the collegiate or professional level.
Ability to work non-standard work hours or work weeks, including early mornings, nights, or holidays.
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
