The Opportunity
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will be assisting with the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements, including statements of cash flows, as well as assisting in the preparation of the quarterly, annually, and other SEC filings (8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, etc.). This individual will also prepare and analyze ad hoc reports as needed by Senior Management. This individual will ensure SOX compliance and perform technical research as needed. This individual will be assisting with the annual audit process, at times working directly with our external auditors.
This is an IN-OFFICE position, located in Lake Mary, FL.
What You’ll Do
Essential Functions
Assisting with month end close, account reconciliation procedures, and preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements
Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly and annual SEC filings (10Q and 10K)
Assisting with the preparation of 8K’s and other reports as needed
Assist with the preparation of internal operational reports for the management team and respond to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
Other Duties
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Village Farms International, Inc. from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Other duties related to accounting and finance as deemed necessary
Ad Hoc projects as required

Safety Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The Company will provide the required PPE. Employees will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly to your Supervisor.
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
What You Bring
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in public accounting or a financial reporting role.
Strong demonstrated ability to use MS Office products and accounting software proficiently
Licenses or Certificates
Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
Specific job knowledge, skills, and ability

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Must have good command of the English language, oral and written
