Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of Facilities at Harrahs Resort Southern California and is responsible for assisting in daily maintenance operations including preventive, corrective maintenance work orders and capital projects. The candidate would be responsible for maintaining, assigning and inventory of maintenance in the casinos CMMS software program (HotSoS). The candidate would help support the facility manager, supervisors and maintenance mechanics to assure the casinos facilities are properly maintained and safe. This is a 3-month assignment with a requested start date: 6/1/2026

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

Organize, assign and schedule daily workload for maintenance staff, preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.

Dispatch daily work orders; determine maintenance type, provide the necessary personnel to complete tasks; communicate with facility manager and casino leaders’ issues are resolved.

Schedule, track and manage contractor work within the casino.

Provide feedback and updates to the facility director; issue preventive and corrective work progress reports to include houses spent, costs, and contractor or staff work schedules.

Coordinate high priority work orders with the facility manager and facilities staff to ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively.

Organize, manage and oversee maintenance workshop tools, equipment and all SDS records.

Order parts and equipment, track items necessary for facilities staff to perform PM/CM work.

Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes and shift meetings for facility staff.

Assist supervisors with daily office duties.

Assist with the monthly repair and maintenance budgeting. Participate in monthly P/L statement reviews and provide information against the variances.

Set up and review safety operations guidelines for facilities staff to include in facilities shop and equipment.

Participate in one capital project and duties required.

Be able to write a summary report of what learned, what you want to learn each month which will be sent to the Director of Facilities, casino General Manager, HR Dept and to your college dean and or program administrator.

What You Will Need
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Working experience with AutoCAD, Revit, CMMS Software Program, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or any hands‑on experience in the trades industry.

Working knowledge of commercial maintenance operations including Predictive, Preventative, and Reactive maintenance.

Pursuing a 2‑year Associates or 4‑year Bachelors from one of the following categories: Project Management, Architecture, Facility Management, Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.

Must be a current Junior or Senior status with strong transcript performance of a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Ability to be flexible to work a night shift or a weekend shift to gain experience and broader understanding of facility operations during peak hours.

Knowledge of Fire/Life Systems and or Commercial Mechanical systems.

Ability to

Effectively and persuasively communicate with many varied audiences: general manager, senior executives, directors, contractors, ownership or guests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a high school diploma.

Must be able to fulfill the requirements to drive to the casino from your residency.

Basic knowledge of facility maintenance operations.

Experience with web‑based work order management system software.

Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other departments and guests in fast‑paced operations to meet deadlines and customer service goals.

Ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all team members and guests of the casino.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be capable of maneuvering for prolonged periods of time, both inside and outside sometimes in temperatures in excess of 115 degrees or cold temperatures below 10 degrees.

Must possess coordination and dexterity to work with power and hand tools such as drills, electric saws, hammers, etc.

Respond to visual and aural cues.

Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, and carry heavy loads.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Able to maneuver on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.

Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in situations.

Ability to stand during entire shift.

Able to operate various types of maintenance equipment.

Must be able to understand and follow directions, guidelines, and work objectives as set forth by the supervisor or manager.

Must use common sense and integrity in ensuring security of guests’ belongings while working in guest rooms and suites.

Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, and identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Must be able to listen to, understand and clarify the issues raised by guests’ and co‑workers.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Preference is given to qualified Rincon tribal members and members of other federally recognized tribes.
