
TEMP-Lab/Research Support (Prof Xie Lab)

Job Summary
Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory, including conducting analyses, operating, maintaining, cleaning equipment, and managing supply inventory. Responsibilities will be determined by assignment and unit needs. The role will interact consistently with academic and/or research faculty, staff, and students, and will provide advisory and counseling services to laboratory users. No supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Setup, operate, and maintain instruments and other equipment used in lab tests and experiments.
Order supplies and materials as required and maintain records.
Setup laboratory media and equipment for demonstrations.
Clean instruments, glassware, and other lab equipment as needed.
Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational requirements: high school diploma, GED certificate, or vocational school diploma.
Up to two years of job‑related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to the assigned laboratory.
Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications.
