Job Summary

Perform various support tasks in assisting scientific research team with the execution of tests and experiments. Set up, operate, clean, and maintain lab instruments and equipment. Depending on area of research, may prepare media, samples, solutions, specimens, and/or reagents. Gather and record research data, keep detailed logs of experiments, and maintain and stock supplies. The Rowley lab is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Technician. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have at least one year of laboratory experience in an academic or industry research setting.
Responsibilities

Perform cell and molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, PCR and genotyping, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and transfections, lentiviral production, immunoprecipitation, Western blot analysis, cell culture, and primary human and mouse cell isolations.
Work with laboratory mice, including blood collection, injections, preparation for surgical procedures, and post‑operative monitoring and care.
Help maintain laboratory organization and compliance by cleaning and disinfecting laboratory and cleanroom spaces, maintaining equipment, assisting with inventory management, and receiving, inspecting, ordering, and stocking laboratory supplies.
Gather and record research data; keep detailed logs of experiments.
Job Levels

Research Technician, I (Entry‑Level Support).

Requires little to no related experience; performs routine tasks under close supervision; expected pay range $9.45 to $21.69.
Research Technician, II (Intermediate Support).

Requires at least 1 year of related experience; completes routine tasks under moderate supervision; expected pay range $10.92 to $25.06.
Research Technician, III (Skilled Support).

Requires 3+ years of related experience; completes assignments with little supervision; may assist less‑experienced team members; expected pay range $12.62 to $28.96.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
At least one year of laboratory experience in an academic or industry research setting.
1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
Preferred Skills

Molecular cloning, immunoprecipitation, Western blotting, mammalian cell culture, lentiviral production, AAV production, flow cytometry, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, or mouse handling.
